Cara Counselling - Here to Help
Cara Counselling is located just off the M6 Motorway, in Killarive, Kiltulla, Athenry, Co. Galway. H65 KD61. Cara Counselling is open for Face-to-Face, Telephone and Online sessions over Zoom. Therapy is provided in a comfortable space where you can talk in private and complete confidence with your Therapist. All of our appointments are carefully scheduled to ensure the discretion of clients.
Just taking the first step in the healing process by deciding to visit a counsellor is a huge victory in itself. It is a person deciding they are going to take action and agency over their own state of mind.
Often our thoughts and feelings may seem overwhelming or impossible to deal with. It can sometimes feel too much to face thinking about, let alone talking about. We can often even just get so lost that the thoughts of even going about our day to day lives is more than we can handle, or even has no purpose. If you have ever felt like this, you are not alone. We are all at the mercy of our own thoughts, and everyone has their own unique challenges to face.
People often ask questions like: "what can counselling do for me?" or "how long does it take for counselling to work?". Unfortunately, the answer to both questions is: "it depends". Counselling can do many things as long as the person seeking counselling understands that they are in control of the process and they decide what they want to do. The counsellor just provides them with the tools, guidance and space to do it. How long counselling takes to "work" depends on the particular challenge being worked on, and the amount of effort someone is willing to make towards achieving their goals. Counselling and therapy are not just about "fixing problems". They are about embracing support, facing our biggest challenges, and developing tools to face the world.
